This landscape metaphor really hits diferently. The way you visualized fluid intelligence as those rushing waters carving new paths, then slowly solidifying into those deep valleys of crystalized intelligence is brilliant. It captures somthing I've felt but couldn't articulate about getting older. Those deep set valleys might not flow as freely, but they hold wisdom that took decades to form. Makes me appreciate both phases rather than mourning the loss of that youthful spontaneity.
