It happened to me that when I wanted to apply for a job position and they had the interview process with a test on skills, they used to ask for the editable files. I was not sure if that was just to check that everything was in order or I was just doing free stuff for them. After sending those test and my hourly rate, they never answered back. I felt like an idiot, but same as you… I was young at that time and needed the experience.
